Clearly Sustainable
All of our tours fulfill secondary tasks of monitoring the spread of invasive plants and animals as well as planning and implementing trash removal in an attempt to keep Tahoe as clear as we once knew it to be.
Get Involved

Forget the plastic water bottles!
Plastic water bottles make up one of the largest amounts of unnecessary waste.Visitors should know: Tahoe tap is actually GREAT! This is a great opportunity to pack or purchase a reusable water bottle and simply ask to re-fill it at any bar/restaurant during your visit!
Clearly Tahoe is sponsored by Boxed Water and recommends this product as a great alternative to bottled water. Clearly Tahoe provides complementary Boxed Water to all of our guests to enjoy during their Clearly Tahoe Experience!

Choose a reef safe sunscreen!
We know coral reef doesn’t grow in Lake Tahoe but many “reef safe” sunscreens mean they are free of all the harsh chemicals that are also potentially bad for you and the Lake Tahoe eco system.Clearly Tahoe is sponsored by Raw Elements USA Sunscreen and provides this eco-friendly option to all of our guests to try during their Clearly Experience.

Bike instead of drive!
Obviously this is not possible for all transportation needs however, biking has become the best means for transportation within a Lake Tahoe region. With limited parking at beaches and backed up traffic on the highways, biking is not only a better eco-friendly option but allows guests to maximize their time in Tahoe!
Travel Tips:
(1.) Choose lodging within “walking” or “biking” distance to activities, beaches and parks.
(2.) Inquire about long-term bike rentals or choose a lodging destination that offers on-site amenities. -

Pack it in, pack it out!
Visitors should be aware: Trash cans may be scarce or completely non existent in outdoor recreation areas. This is due to the wildlife and need for bear boxes.Be be prepared to pack and carry trash with you to the nearest bear box or possibly even your lodging destination.
Travel Tips:
(1.) Only pack essential items for Tahoe excursions.
(2.) Bring as little food and beverages as possible into remote recreational areas.
(3.) Always bring a garbage bag for beach days. Even if you don’t generate trash, you may want to pick some up on your way out!
