Description:
Paddle through the turquoise-blue water and along the iconic rocky shoreline as you enjoy a 365 degree of the beauty that surrounds you. This guided 1.5 tour will give guests a chance to experience the clarity of Lake Tahoe and visibility of up to 75 feet below the surface through their completely transparent kayak. Participants will have the opportunity to learn about Lake Tahoe as well as how to help preserve and protect it. 

Inclusions:
This guided tour includes shuttle transportation to and from our check in location to the launch site of the scheduled tour. This activity also includes basic instruction from an experienced guide, the use of kayaks, paddles and dry bags as well as a small cooler with complimentary water and granola bars.

Recommendations: 
This tour is highly recommended for all ages and skill levels 6+ and is an activity the whole family can enjoy together. While it is easy to kick back and relax, this guided tour does require participants to paddle at a reasonable pace to reach destinations in a timely manner. This region of the Lake is said to be our most picturesque and therefore can become very crowded during the summer months. It is best recommended to schedule an experience in the early morning, arrive early and anticipate delays due to traffic and congestion. This tour is NOT RECOMMENDED FOR GUESTS WITH TIME CONSTRAINTS or traveling with pets. 

What to Wear;
Guests should wear comfortable light layers as well as shoes that can be removed easily. We highly recommend hats, sunglasses, and sunscreen, swimsuits are optional but not required.

Level of Difficulty:
This tour is suitable for beginners and is generally considered an easy physical activity. 

Limitations:
Limitations do apply to this experience. All participants must be over the age of 6 and there is a weight limit of 375lbs. per boat. Pets will not be permitted on this experience. PLEASE NOTE: There is a mandatory check-in at for this experience. All guests must arrive to our Clearly Tahoe Shop in Incline Village, NV for check-in no less than 30 minutes prior to departure. Please see confirmation email for more information.

Details for Physical Requirements:
Guests should be able to listen and understand rules, regulations, and safety lecture verbally provided in English. Guests will be required to enter up to 12 inches of water prior to entering the vessel. Guests will be required to enter the vessel one foot at a time and lower themselves to a seated position without assistance. Guests will be required to sit in an upright position and paddle at a reasonable pace with occasional breaks. Guests should be able to remain afloat with the assistance of a PFD and calmly follow instructions of a tour guide in an emergency scenario.

Changes made to a current reservation day, date time or activity will result in a $20.00 Reservation Change Fee per request. Reservation Changes may be possible but are not guaranteed. Upon approval, any additional fees resulting from Reservation Change will be automatically charged to the method of payment on file unless otherwise noted. Cancellation Fee shall apply to any cancelled guests as per Cancellation Policy. Any remaining amount will be refunded as per our Refund Policy. Guest is responsible for original reservation if Reservation Change request is not approved.

Description:
The tour explores the 150 year-old second-growth Sierra Nevada forest that lines the shoreline of the historic settlements established by the Pope, Baldwin and Heller families. This environmental and historical experience guides guests past these early estates towards the Taylor Creek, known for calm morning waters and abundant wildlife. Along the way, guests may observe wildlife both above and below the surface, all while learning about the natural and delicate ecosystem of the Lake Tahoe Basin. Paddling above resting cobblestone shoreline provides a striking view of submerged granite stones with subtle natural color variations visible through the clear water at shallow depths. Framed by the Sierra Nevada mountain range, this tour also offers expansive views of Desolation Wilderness and 9,735-foot Mount Tallac. Guests will learn how this prominent peak and the surrounding landscape were historically used by the Washoe Tribe to gauge seasonality in the basin. This guided clear kayak experience is fun, educational, and immersive. The experience is designed for families, adults, and children ages five and older of all skill levels.

Guests can find their guide and kayaks ready and waiting on the beach to the west of the Grove and The Beachside Inn. Follow signage from the main parking area. Parking is first come first served and is subject to selling out during peak summer months. The parking fee will be paid directly to Camp Richardson upon entering the lot. Your kayaking reservation does not include nor guarantee parking. Please arrive early. We highly recommend ride-shares and public transportation options when possible. This location is also accessible via the bike path.

This tour blends a scenic boat cruise with a guided clear kayak tour, taking you on an all in one journey through Emerald Bay. Departing from South Lake Tahoe, this unique 3-hour adventure takes guests on a cruise across crystal-clear waters to reach one of Lake Tahoe’s most sought after paddle destination. Upon arrival to Emerald Bay, the clear kayaks are launched directly from the boat for a guided tour of the bay’s dazzling waters and rich history. This excursion is perfect for groups of varying ability levels and provides guests with the opportunity to paddle at their leisure and return to the boat to relax, grab a snack to use the restroom as necessary. Guests aboard the Clearly Explorer can observe and participate with the rest of their party from a short distance. 

What to Wear;
Guests should wear comfortable light layers as well as shoes that can be removed easily. We highly recommend hats, sunglasses, and sunscreen, swimsuits are optional but not required.

What to Bring;

All guests must arrive to our Clearly Tahoe Shop at the Tahoe Keys Marina in South Lake Tahoe for check-in no less than 30 minutes prior to departure.
